River City Disc Golf Club’s mission is to grow the sport of disc golf in the Tri-cities area through community engagement, event management, course improvement, and local government partnerships.

Community Engagement
River City Disc Golf Club promotes and runs events focused around growing the sport of disc golf. We run a series of youth clinics each year aimed at educating new players. Additionally, we work on getting the hands of discs into kids in underserved communities. RCDGC also hosts clinics at local schools of varying levels to raise awareness for the sport.
Event Management
RCDGC runs a variety of tournaments that get both local and interstate draw. The Tour De Richmond is RCDGC’s premier event, spanning 2 days and offering players the opportunity to play on 3 different courses. The Battlefield open is a 1-day event playing at Gillies Creek Park and Dorey Park. Lastly, the Dorey Park Championships is a 1-day event showcasing the course at Dorey Park.
RCDGC also runs a monthly tag event. We rotate between many local courses to play around the region over the course of the year. Throughout the year, tags are a great way to stay involved with local clubmates and encourage friendly competition.
RCDGC also hosts the River City Junior Series, a way for kids & teens to play in a tournament setting. It’s a great way to get kids & teens introduced to disc golf.
In addition to these recurring events, RCDGC sporadically hosts course clean-ups, community engagement events, and clinics meant to engage the Richmond community.
Course Improvement
River City Disc Golf Club does fundraising activities to spend funds in a way that reflects the wants of the community. From buying baskets, funding signage, and replacing tees to supporting community member projects, we aim to be a driver of course improvements in the area. Local Government Partnerships
River City Disc Golf Club works in tandem with local governments to improve our parks. Unlike traditional golf, disc golf courses are often hosted at public parks. By maintaining a strong relationship with local government, we’re able to work together to fund and support our courses.
